I love eating out, it is my hobby. Then I go home and write little restaurant reviews on review sites. I have only lived in Rochester about two months and I have had a great time visiting Rochester restaurants. I am not gonna lie, I was a bit skeptical when I first moved here, unsure of what kind of restaurants Rochester NY had in store for me. I am relieved to discover that, although sometimes we have to do some digging, we can usually find Rochester ny restaurants to suit our mood.
Just last night I was online looking over Rochester restaurants and then suddenly the clouds parted, the birds began to sing, and there is was… ETHIOPIAN FOOD! I grabbed my rain boots and went for it. It was not spicy enough but the flavors were awesome. The injera bread was spongy and perfect. The waitstaff was attentive. We will be back. Probably pretty frequently. Thank Heaven. Among Rochester restaurants there is ethnic diversity!
On Valentines Day I wanted Indian food in a major way. My sweetheart found one online and we gave it a try. It was awesome. The flavors were vibrant, the spice level was there and my hankering for Indian was fulfilled. However, as a native Californian, I have not found a Mexican restaurant or a Chinese restaurant among the Rochester restaurants yet that satisfy my cravings, but I did just get here and I have all the time in the world to keep on looking. And eating at all the Rochester restaurants I have time for.
The one thing Rochester restaurants have completely covered is Mom and Pop diners. I have never seen so many family diners in a concentrated area. We have visited several already and they are all tasty and affordable. The one down the street from my house has a variety of home cooked soups every day and we absolutely love it. This niche of Rochester restaurants might be enough to make Rochester the diner capital of the world.
